image0011) The Annual Meditation Retreat at SJBA will end on 22nd December 2014. The Retreat is conducted by Venerable Sayadaw U Sobhita and Sayadaw U Rewata from Chanmyay Yeiktha Meditation Centre. Sayadaw U Sobhita is giving Dhamma Talk every night during the Retreat, at 8.30pm at SJBA Shrine Hall. All are welcome for the Dhamma Talk. Please maintain silence within the vicinity of SJBA during the Retreat period to provide a more conducive environment for the yogis.

2) SJBA’s Sunday Dhamma School (SDS) 2015 is open for student registration, online, effective 1 Nov 2014. The Buddhist classes will be conducted in three (3) sessions, as follows:

Session A: 9.00am to 10.30am

Session B: 10.30am to 12.00pm

Session C: 12.00pm to 1.30pm

Classes will commence on Sunday, 4 January 2015. Classes are open to children in Standard 1 to Form 3.

3) SJBA will be celebrating this New Year Eve with a 8-course Appreciation Dinner in SJBA to thank our members and devotees for the selfless and tireless services to SJBA Vihara. The evening shall start with Puja at 7.30pm. Dinner is served at 8.00pm (sharp). During dinner there will be performances, karaoke competition and lots of prizes and lucky draws. At midnight, there will be a firework display to mark the countdown to welcome a New Year.

Venue : Subang Jaya Buddhist Association (SJBA)

Time : 7.30pm to Midnight Dinner Ticket : RM380 per table or RM38 per pax – FULLY SOLD

We apologise to those who are not able to get any more ticket because the tickets are already fully sold. However, light refreshment will be provided from 8.00pm to those without tickets but wish to come and join us for the countdown.

4) This morning’s Dhamma Talk will be given by Sayadaw U Rewata. Sayadaw U Rewata was born in 1955 in Thonse, Myanmar. He graduated in 1980 with Bachelor of Science at the Rangoon University. He was ordained in 1983. He followed Pariyatti and Patipatti under the guidance of Most Venerable Chanmyay Sayadaw U Janaka Bhivamsa. He has travelled widely to many countries like Japan, USA, Canada, India, etc for missionary work, teaching Metta Bhavana, Vipassana Bhavana, Suttanta Recitations, etc.

He served as the Abbot in Hmawbi, Yangon in 2004 to 2006, and also has been the Abbot of the Satipatthana Vipassana Association, Springfield, USA. Sayadaw U Rewata is currently in Subang Jaya Buddhist Association to support its Dhamma missionary work
